FAQs

Do you take single night bookings?

Kangaroo Ridge Retreat has a two night minimum stay. On occasion we do have a single night availability due to changes to guest plans and cancellations.

If you would like to be notified when a single night becomes available please sign up to our VIP list.

Can I organise an early check-in?

Due to COVID-19 precautions we are currently unable to offer earlier (2pm) check-ins. Please do not arrive early (this includes parking) and ensure that you check out by your organised time.  We do this so we can prepare the cabins safely and hygienically for your arrival and then prepare for the next guest after you leave.

What time is check-in and check out?

Unless previously organised with us, check-in time is 4pm and check-out is at 11am.

How do I check in?

After the payment of your final balance, Kangaroo Ridge Retreat will send you your cabin allocation and check in details 7 days prior to arrival.

Details are then forwarded to you on the day of arrival using the phone number you gave us at the time of your booking.

Are we able to take our child or infant?

We are an adults only accommodation service in the Yarra Valley. Each cabin can only fit 2 adults. As a result, we do not cater for children including infants. This is due to safety reasons. The cabins have high balconies and the fire places do not have a protective grill around them.

Do you accept pets such as small dogs?

Unfortunately we are unable cater for your pets. We do know of a great pet resort. On occasion, we also send our two furry family members there.

Which is the best cabin?

All cabins at Kangaroo Ridge Retreat face east and have the best views. There is no difference between the cabins except for the artworks inside the cabins.

Kangaroo Ridge Retreat reserves the right to allocate cabins according to availability.

What COVID-19 precautions are you taking?

We take the health of our guests and staff seriously. Therefore we have dedicated a full description of our new COVID-19 precautions. Please read about it here. If you have any concerns or further questions we are always happy to answer them.

What if we go into a COVID-19 lockdown again?

The wellbeing of our guests and that of our team are our number one priority. If the Victorian Government were to enforce localised lockdowns restricting non-essential travel in and out of the local areas, we will be proactive and will be in direct contact with you to discuss your options by phone and/or email

We will be offering those guests affected flexibility and will be actively helping to look for alternative dates for their stay. If we are unable to find a date in the near future, we will give credit for amount of the deposit that is valid for three years honouring the rates originally booked during the validity period. If a guest were to choose to cancel without a government directive against non-essential travel, our normal cancellation policy applies.

During this challenging time we are committed to working with you for the best outcome for your safety and of course your stay at Kangaroo Ridge Retreat.  We are constantly updating our global cancellation policy to reflect the most recent developments related to the COVID-19

Do you have numbers for a taxi or a driver?

As part of the Kangaroo Ridge Retreat service you will receive a cabin specific guide to help you while you stay. In this guide you will receive details of drivers and taxi numbers we work with who know our cabin set up and location.

Do you organise tours?

Yes, we can help organise a tour. We have a range of tour partners we recommend who know our location and the cabin set up. For example, our Sneaky Mid-Weeky package is great value and has everything you need for a great getaway with a private tour included. Get in contact with us and we can arrange it for you.

Can I get ready in a cabin for my wedding day?

The cabins are ideally set up for two adults as a retreat. Due to the size of the cabins, fitting wedding day preparations will be a challenge. Rather we are more suited for couples stealing away after the reception. Please see our wedding night packages here for more information if you are interested for a memorable escape after your celebrations.

What facilities are in the kitchen?

Our cabins have a kitchenette and you should be aware that the cabins are not completely self-contained with the amenities of a full kitchen. We focus on supporting local businesses by bringing them to you so you can have a full and immersive Yarra Valley experience. There is a two burner stove and BBQ for you to make breakfast and the necessary items you need to cook the dinner packs we also provide. There is a wine fridge and a larder with locally sourced items to make small meals and drinks all at local rrp prices and cellar door prices.

WiFi

Our views are delicious for the eyes and our cabin views demand pictures for Instagram and Facebook (@kangarooridge) but the absence of WiFi and abundance of serenity suggests that perhaps switching off is the better option. #digitaldetox

Despite being only one hour out of Melbourne, we are located in a regional area. As a result we do not have the infrastructure to offer WiFi in your cabin.

Mobile/Cell coverage

We recommend having an Australian based mobile or access to the mobile network. Optus and Telstra networks tend to work the best on the ridge.

For guests based internationally, international roaming works as well. However, if you do have an Australian number, we kindly ask you to send it to us in quick email so we can provide you with the best experience and support while you stay on the ridge. In any case, please let us know the best way to contact you during your stay (such as by WhatsApp or Facebook).

For any further queries, please get in touch at info@kangarooridge.com.au. We will respond to your query within 24 hours. If you are in contact over the weekend, we will respond on the Monday.
